BCH Foster Care & Adoption Programs

Approximately 16,000 North Carolina children have been removed from their families and placed into the state's foster care system. We believe every child deserves to be cared for by a loving family in a safe, stable home.

All children desire to feel valued and loved. You can help us give a child the love he or she never felt. Will you be a difference maker that helps rescue their lives today and provide for their future?

Man Carrying Child in Arms

The COVID-19 pandemic and its effects bring increased economic pressures, emotional stress, isolation, and despair. Alcohol, drug addictions, and hopelessness are rampant. These and other challenges lead to child abuse, neglect and abandonment in Cleveland County and throughout the state of North Carolina.

We believe every child deserves to be cared for by a loving family in a safe, stable home. However, many potential foster parents are not in position to open their homes to multiple children. Sibling groups are therefore more challenging to place.  River Hill Refuge will be part of the solution, providing safe and loving homes spacious enough to be a haven for sibling groups unable to live in traditional foster settings.
